Since the dawn of time, Croatia has been blessed with stunning proof of the wonder that is human creation. Croatia Tourism
Croatia’s National Tourism Board unveiled it’s newest campaign ‘Croatia, Full of Life’ in London last week in an attempt to lure in more Brits to the beautiful country and increase it’s international presence as the ideal holiday destination. To celebrate the campaign launch, Croatia Tourism hosted a boat party alongside it’s Croatia, Full of Life Island overlooking the iconic Tower Bridge. With the nation’s most notorious liquor, šljivovica/ rakija, on the menu, you can imagine things got a little rowdy when the lights came on in the end.
While Croatia promises one of the most breath taking and memorable holiday experiences, it will without a doubt welcome you to the landscape of what dreams are made of. Adding to this, Croatian cuisine is as good as the country you’re immersed in.
Taste Croatia proudly supplied the catering for the event with an endless supply of pršut from Istria (a Croatian city famous for it’s cured meat), home made desserts such as makovnjača (or Kalács if you’re on my Hungarian end of Croatia) and Rapska torta (a traditional cake from island Rab).
This event was run by The Croatian Tourism Board so of course there was wine…
A great selection courtesy of Taste Croatia. Bear in mind I didn’t want to seem like a serial wine stalker so I took a photo of a couple…

& Then the šljivovica/ rakija came along. I told the boys from Tourism Croatia I’ve only taken this shot with my 88 year old grandfather on each visit back home in the past two years as a tradition between us and keeping the Kupresak spirit alive (he literally doesn’t drink any alcohol unless it’s with me)- I’ll admit I took a minute to think about the tradition I was breaking with one of the most incredible men in my life but I know if he were beside me, he would have encouraged me to take a shot or two, and taken four himself. So I took a shot of rakija for my passport (country). It went down just fine!
