We meet here again from a not so sunny Sunday here in Zagreb but it’s literally only the second time I’ve seen rain in the past two months so I’m not going to complain! I had quite the social week this week, meeting new people and making new contacts all while eating good food. What else is new? I may not be in London but my life is still revolves around food. I’m going jump straight into my weekly favourites and what I’ve been up to because I need to get in the kitchen and start making lunch. Yeah, you read that correctly, I’m getting in the kitchen and feeding my family ?

♥ Had Dinner With Another Blogger in Zagreb
Imagine my excitement when I started to connect with Ana from Zagreb Food Stories on Twitter? This is literally another blogger who devotes their evening solely to eating around in Zagreb and then sharing it with the world wide web. I told her to take me to the best burgers in Zagreb and we ended up at Submarine BBQ. Holy Moly! These were sensational and another obstacle in the path of my dream of a ‘plant based diet.’
♥ English Speakers in Zagreb MeetUp
I promised myself to spend less time in my woman-cave and more time out in public meeting new people and getting to know them which is why I decided to join the website MeetUp. To my surprise, Zagreb is a pretty ‘happening’ city with loads of opportunities to meet new people at expat events and organised meet ups. Yesterday, I went along to VegeHop and met with 7 other english speaking locals/expats and spent two hours talking about life in the city, disaster dating stories and creating a life online. Surprisingly, the organiser of the meet up, Theresa founded a very informative blog based in Zagreb called Unique Zagreb that I was already following religiously in the lead up to starting my new life here and also is a film maker by profession. So you can imagine the 101 questions I had for her in regards to filming and editing, something I’ve grown to love almost more than writing (Don’t tell anyone).
♥ Still My Favourite Salad in Zagreb
I stopped by Hemingway Lounge Bar late Friday afternoon to upload my latest YouTube video (Thanks, Grad Zagreb WiFi) & enjoy this chicken gorgonzola cheese salad for the second time. Hemingway Bar is a little special to me as it was the first place I stopped to have a coffee when I arrived to Zagreb in August so it takes me back to that first day when I started discovering the city for the first time. I didn’t plan on staying too long but ended up seeing Ella Dvornik of I am Ella and her fiancé Charles and we chatted away about work, business and future plans for a few hours. Pretty cool chic, make sure you check out her super popular and award winning travel blog.
♥ Dorinus Illustrations
This week I was sent a freaking cool email from the Editorial Team at Jetset Times asking me to select not one but TWO items from the Jetset Shop from Dorinus Illustrations and my God did I have a field day and some difficulty picking two items. You’ll have to wait and see what I picked but one of the items goes perfectly well for a new YouTube series I am currently working on that’s a little more serious to what you’re used to seeing from me.

♥ Quote of The Week
This quote comes off the back end of a conversation I had with a lovely young lady that was part of the MeetUp I attended. She expressed her desires and passions for starting a blog and had started one but when it came to showing her family and friends the content she’d produced, they were not so enthusiastic by her passions. I’ll talk in detail about my opinion on considering family and friends your biggest cheerleaders when in actual fact, they never will be in a YouTube series I’m currently working on, as previously mentioned. The message in this picture is synonymous in getting up, showing up and giving your dreams a real chance because you never know where it may lead to, what opportunities may arise and how you touch another soul.
Never allow anyone to negatively talk you out of following whatever it is that’s lighting the fire in your heart, especially your family.
Have a great week,
I’m getting in the kitchen now ☺️
